10/30/21 NHL Main Slate Analysis and Breakdown

High Priority

Tarasenko (6100), Schenn (5100), Kyrou (5500), Krug (4900), Perron (6400), Buchnevich (4600), Thomas (3800), Faulk (5600), Bozak (2600), Neal (2500)

Last night I told you that the Blackhawks would get decimated in Raleigh and that’s exactly what happened. The Canes put up 5 goals in the first period and coasted from there on out. I also told you that everyone in the lineup was viable and we saw a good chunk of bottom six points from Carolina. Unfortunately for the Blackhawks, they get to play another game on the road tonight against a good team! They head to St. Louis where they will probably get chunked again. My favorite play of the night is likely going to be a rejuvenated Vlad Tarasenko who is running absolutely hot with the 3rd line and top power play unit. I’m hoping the price increase on him will scare people off. Realistically, you can play all the Blues tonight. I don’t have a problem with anyone.

McDavid (9000), Draisaitl (8200), Barrie (4800), Hyman (5700)

DraftKings is too cowardly to price McDavid above 10k, where he should realistically be priced. The dude is torching the league with 15 points in 6 games which is just absurd and video game-esque. So we’re just gonna keep playing him until DraftKings realizes what they’re doing. McDavid has also owned the Canucks for the most part with 36 points in his last 19 games against them. While Draisaitl only has 30 points in those same 19 games, he’s still a fantastic play. I also don’t mind pairing these two with some of the complementary pieces, specifically Hyman and Barrie.

GPP Pivots

Raymond (4500), Larkin (6400), Fabbri (4300), Seider (3600), Zadina (4000), Veleno (2500), Hronek (2900)

Toronto has surely been one of the most snake-bitten teams offensively thus far. However, there are only four other teams allowing more goals per 60 than them. This means we need to strongly consider a bunch of single digit ownerships of the Red Wings. Another thing to consider is that the unvaccinated Tyler Bertuzzi will be left behind in Michigan since he cannot play in Canada. This opens up a nice spot for prospect Joe Veleno, who is probably the punt of the day at 2500. I love a lot of these guys though and they give us some nice spend down spots to get to the higher priced studs on Edmonton.

Eklund (2600), Labanc (3600)

If we are locking on McDavid and crew, we are going to need some cheap spots with strong upside and I think targeting the Jets with some wingers makes the most sense. My second favorite sub 3k punt is Eklund. He’s still heavily involved in the offense and getting power play time. I also like Labanc for similar reasons but he’s a bit more expensive.
