11/11/21 NHL Main Slate Analysis and Breakdown

High Priority

Larkin (6400), Bertuzzi (6500), Raymond* (5300), Seider (5200)

The first target for tonight’s massive slate is Detroit, a bad defensive team able to score a lot of goals. They get to face a Caps team that’s allowed at least 3 goals in five of their last seven while giving Zach Fucale his first NHL start tonight. Detroit has a chance to put up a crooked number against a below average defense and a first career start in net at fairly inexpensive prices. The biggest name to look for is Lucas Raymond, the Swedish wunderkid. He’s a game time decision at the moment and, if he plays, will be incredibly low owned if he carries that injury tag close to lock. I don’t mind some of the cheaper second liners along with Filip Hronek, who is also a game time decision.

Marchand (7900), Pastrnak (8300), Bergeron (7600), McAvoy (6000)

My preferred pay up spot tonight. The field should gravitate to Ovechkin and McDavid if they want to spend up so I imagine we get slight ownership discounts on the top line for Boston getting a bad defense in Edmonton. I love any grouping of the four above and also don’t mind some pivots to the 2nd line, the favorite play being Charlie Coyle. Overall, Boston is in a great spot tonight.

Compher (5400)

Mack Daddy Nate Mackinnon has a multi-week injury as of earlier today and the likely candidate to replace his spot between Landeskog and Rantanen is JT Compher. I expect him to be popular tonight but could have an absolute banger of a night in a game where they’re still a big favorite. A lot of the Avs in the top six are viable tonight but Compher is excellent as a one-off.

Ehlers (5600), Copp (5500), Pionk (5000)

The Jets are extremely cheap tonight in a great matchup so we need to take advantage. They have three strong lines they’re rolling so it’ll be tough to choose. My favorite path is a fully correlated first unit stack but you can go to pretty much anyone here.

GPP Pivots

Saad (4200), O’Reilly (5300), Faulk (5000)

I love playing the opponents of teams on the second leg of a back to back and this is what we have with the Blues playing the Predators. Thankfully, the top line is power play correlated and very easy to access thanks to this pricing. They were close to being a priority tonight but I’ve been burnt by the Blues too many times to trust them in a good matchup.

Henrique (6000), Terry (5600), Shattenkirk (6200)

The Ducks are flying high of late with a 5-0 run and scoring at least 3 goals in each game. I don’t think that stops tonight with a matchup against the Kraken in a game where they’re someone the underdogs. You can go wherever you want for the most part in this Ducks lineup, but the three listed above are the biggest reasons for why they’re en fuego of late. These prices will also keep the field off of them.
